Meet Dr. Alejandro Lopez
MEDICAL DIRECTOR OF ALO BARIATRICS
Alejandro Lopez, MD, is one of the most respected bariatric surgeons and the leader of our bariatric centers in Mexico. After graduating from medical school at the University of Guadalajara, Dr. Lopez went on to complete advanced fellowship training in weight loss surgery at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL. He then began pioneering weight loss surgery in Mexico, and since the completion of his training in 2005, Dr. Lopez has performed over 20,000 bariatric surgeries in Mexico and has published research in several surgical journals.
Dr. Lopez performs many types of weight loss surgery, including gastric sleeve surgery, gastric bypass surgery, LAP-BAND® placement, revision procedures, single incision procedures, and more. Whenever possible, he prefers to operate laparoscopically to minimize scarring and expedite patient recovery times.
